Ease of installation: Shower panels are generally easier to install than tiles, which require a lot of cutting and fitting.
Energy: Shower panels are generally more durable than tiles and are less prone to cracking or chipping.
Waterproof: The shower panels are made of waterproof material, which can help prevent water from seeping behind the walls and causing damage.
low maintenance: Shower panels are easy to clean and maintain, which can save you time and effort in the long run.
Overall, shower panels can be a good alternative to tiles for people who want a durable, waterproof, low-maintenance solution for their bathroom.
What is the difference between PVC shower panels and MDF shower panels?
PVC shower panels, shower sheets and mdf shower panels are commonly used to make shower wall panels, they all do the same job but differ in material, quality and service life.
PVC shower panels are made from Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and hence the cost is much less. They are durable, waterproof and easy to clean, making them a popular choice for shower and bathroom walls. PVC shower panels are also lightweight and easy to cut, making them easy to install. They are available in a variety of colors, lengths, widths, heights and styles. PVC shower panels aren't textured, but you'll find a variety of 3D prints to help give them depth.
MDF shower panels are a type of wall cladding made from medium density fiberboard (MDF). MDF is a type of engineered wood product made by breaking down hard or soft wood scraps into wood fibers, combining them with wax and resin binder, and pressing them into sheets. MDF is a popular choice for shower paneling because it is strong, durable and easy to work with. The MDF showers are finished in 100% waterproof laminate, which is the face of the project. However, MDF shower panels may not be as water resistant as other types of shower panels such as Acrylic, PVC, Ply and may require more maintenance to keep them in good condition. It is important to properly seal and waterproof the joints between MDF shower panels to prevent water from leaking behind the walls, as T&G is not as tight as Ply shower panels.
Canvas shower panels, on the other hand, are made from plywood, which is a type of wood panel made from thin sheets of wood veneer that are laid and glued together. Plywood is a strong, durable material, but it can require more maintenance and may not be as easy to clean as PVC shower panels. They are also more expensive than PVC shower panels, but the effects, especially the variety of tile styles, are incredible.
Are the shower panels waterproof?
All of our shower panels are waterproof as they are designed for showers. Made from a variety of materials including acrylic, PVC, MDF and plywood, all need proper fitting and sealing with sealants.
Acrylic shower panels are generally considered to be the most water resistant and are often used in areas with high humidity. They are made from a type of plastic known for its durability and water resistance.
PVC shower panels are completely waterproof but require a sealant between the tongue and groove and where the trim is used to prevent water from entering the back.
Canvas shower panels, on the other hand, are made from plywood with a laminate on the face, which is a type of wood panel made from thin sheets of veneer wood that are laid and glued together. Plywood is a strong and durable material, but it is not as waterproof as acrylic or PVC, but if installed correctly it will last for years as it is warranted for 35 years. Pleated shower panels may require more, but it's important to note that shower panels still need to properly seal and waterproof the joints between panels to ensure no water is leaking behind the walls.
Contributing to this, most of our shower panels feature a tight tongue and groove that help keep water away from the walls and provide a near-seamless connection. We have various widths and thicknesses of PVC and Ply panels and our in-house construction gives our shower panels unrivaled strength with limited weight, so they are ideal for walls and ceilings.

At Wet Wall Works we manufacture and sell a range of materials used for shower panels. There are two types of PVC panels, both of which are ideal as bathroom/shower panels. Standard PVC panel produced and imported from China has film glued to the panel, while Premium PVC wall panels are digitally printed directly onto the PVC sheet in the UK. The Premium PVC panel offers an almost seamless join as the graphic flows directly from one panel to another and we can create a smart 3D effect. Samples of our shower panels are available to help you choose the right color for your project, as we believe our range is impressive. Wall swatches give you a better idea of the actual color of our products compared to your mobile screen/view and you will see the quality.
We have our own in-house brand Ply which is alongsidemultipainel,Fibo, Rearo e operformance without styleShower panel series. Folded shower panels are ideal for a bathroom / shower cubicle as the face is 100% waterproof. Our panels vary in width from 600mm, going up to 1.2m wide, 2.4m high and 11mm thick. Canvas panels are made from seven layers of high quality water resistant tropical hardwood, with each layer protected using a waterproof grade to prevent lamination. On top of the Ply is a laminate that highlights the design. Laminates can be matte or glossy, smooth or embossed, but all have a waterproof tongue and groove locking system. In addition to keeping water out, Tongue & Groove gives a near-perfect joint that, depending on the design, is visually essential. The Tile Style range of wall panels is an example where you don't want to see joints and our panels look like real tiles but with all the benefits you get from panels.
Finally, we have a game changer in the panel industry with VoxKerradecoPanel. These are made from composite PVC with a solid inner core. Vox Kerradeco panels are 9mm thick, 100% waterproof and as these wall panels are tongue and groove on all four edges, it means they can be stacked to any height and width. You don't need to use a connecting strip, which is why it is so popular in hotels in their bathrooms and also in receptions. These wall panels are impact resistant, help insulate a room with insulating properties and help reduce noise.
We're in control and work closely with other manufacturers, which is why we're one of the leaders in the wall panel industry.
